Rush

Kill the rush or let it blaze.
No spark can last for days.
We can rupture disembodied thoughts before they have a chance to phase.
Seize the day. Shoot for stars.
Take the trip. Buy that car.
Enjoy a spike in cholesterol at the hands of buttered cob.
As long as we're together we can be reckless forever.
Taunt all boundaries before our bond to earth is severed.
Or maybe not. We can live life utterly mundane.
As long as I'm with you the rush is still the same.

Deep In The Night

Thoughts of him are my Teddy bear.
I hold them closely in the dark.
When he drives into my wishes
I hope he puts the ride in park.

Even

Even at a breakfast level,
Bleary eyed, confused, disheveled,
Your love’s a mantra in my mind.
I think about it all the time.

I pray about it ev’ry night.
I seek Your power, seek Your light.
I pray to wake up to Your grace.
To feel Your sunshine on my face.

Heart Times

To the child who lost a parent.
Never knew the other.
No aunt or sister to lean on.
Uncle or overprotective brother.
No one to take you in.
Life dissolved like a land mine.
Don’t break or fold.
These are heart times.

Every Part That Loves

Every part that loves;
Every part that needs;
Every part that cares;
Is on what he feeds.

The Eye (Chance) [Picture Painting Series]

Now I'm glancing at you over my shoulder giving you the eye.
A smile and a wink and I'm hoping you'll walk by.
Never in life have I met a man so fly.
This isn't a night but the beginning of life.
You know it right?
'Cause I know it boo.
I only had a glance and I knew I wanted you.
